The Medicine Buddha Details Description:
The sculpture in the picture is one of the forms of the medicine Buddha sculpture. The Buddha sits on a lotus throne with blue and pink petals, which is different from other pedestals. There is a large circular backlight behind the Medicine Buddha and a small backlight behind the Buddha’s head. In the hands of the Pharmacist Buddha is almost always in a medicine jar or lapis lazuli bowl. If the Buddha’s right hand is pointing down and the palm outward this gesture indicates that he is ready to answer or give a blessing.
